WIEF FACE-TO-FACE “Space: The Final Business Frontier”
Space industry is booming. A new era of space exploration and space inspired industries is beginning to take shape with opportunities abound for all stakeholders. Initially started as government endeavour, it is now driven by the private sector.
According to a report by Space Foundation, the space industry grew at its fastest pace in years to reach a record USD469 billion in annual global spending in 2021. Commercial space ventures accounted for 77% of spending. More than USD224 billion came from products and services delivered by space firms and nearly USD138 billion was spent on infrastructure and support for commercial space enterprises. Despite the 2022 economic slowdown, space industry spending is expected to rise beyond USD634 billion by 2026.
Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley projected that the global space industry could generate revenue of more than USD 1 trillion by 2040, with significant opportunities arising from satellite broadband internet access, whilst space tourism will be a USD3 billion market by 2030 according to UBS.

Anatoliy Kopik is the Marketing and Sales Director of Sputnix LLC, Russia.
Formerly with Event Team Communications Agency, his last position was the Project Manager and PR Director. Before
that, he was a press attaché in the Marketing Department of the industrial holding Ivanovskaya Marka. He worked as an
editor of the Novosti Kosmonavtiki (Cosmonautics News) Magazine. Anatoliy graduated from the Bauman MSTU with honors in the specialty “Spacecraft and launch vehicles” and the International Space University. At the university he was the
head of the satellite direction of the Youth Space Center and the coordinator of the microsatellite Baumanets-1 project.
For the promotion of the achievements of the national cosmonautics, he was awarded medals of Roskosmos from
the Federation of Cosmonautics, the Association of Cosmonautics and VDNH.

Dato’ Darawati Hussain is a Director of Syalin Sdn Bhd., a family investment office. She has over 30 years’ experience in in private equity/venture capital, fund asset management and corporate finance, and has extensive Board experience.
Prior to DJL Sdn Bhd, she worked for CIMB Group for over 20 years before leaving in early 2014. In CIMB, she established a private equity unit introducing a new alternative asset class offering high absolute risk adjusted returns to clients. Under her leadership the PE assets under management grew from RM100 million to more than RM1.2 billion, reflecting efforts in educating the investment community through speaker engagements and publish writings, engagement with regulators and industry players to grow a nascent sector and innovative product offering.
Dato’ Darawati is a Chartered Financial Analyst. She holds an MBA from the London Business School, UK and a BA in Economics and Accountancy from the University of Durham, UK.
