Space industry is booming.  A new era of space exploration and space inspired industries is beginning to take shape with opportunities abound for all stakeholders.  Initially started as government endeavour, it is now driven by the private sector.

According to a report by Space Foundation, the space industry grew at its fastest pace in years to reach a record USD469 billion in annual global spending in 2021.  Commercial space ventures accounted for 77% of spending.  More than USD224 billion came from products and services delivered by space firms and nearly USD138 billion was spent on infrastructure and support for commercial space enterprises.  Despite the 2022 economic slowdown, space industry spending is expected to rise beyond USD634 billion by 2026.

Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley projected that the global space industry could generate revenue of more than USD 1 trillion by 2040, with significant opportunities arising from satellite broadband internet access, whilst space tourism will be a USD3 billion market by 2030 according to UBS.
