3.05 pm | Welcome Note by Honourable Tun Musa Hitam, Chairman, WIEF Foundation & Former Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia
To tell us more about the inaugural WIEF Foundation Roundtable for the year, what participants and media members themselves can expect out of it, and the pressing topics of discussion, please join me in welcoming the Chairman of the WIEF Foundation & Former Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, the Honourable Tun Musa Hitam. Tun…

Thank you, Tun for that enlightening speech. It does indeed sound like this kick-off roundtable session will be a very enlightening one, touching on the topics and issues afflicting the South Asian regions and potentially coming up with alternatives or even suggestions on how the nations can alleviate, if not overcome, the problems besieging them.

3.15 pm | Question & answer session
Now, we would now like to invite Members of the Media for the Question & Answer session. Members of the media, do use this opportunity to find out more about the roundtable initiative, the collaboration between the WIEF and SEACO Foundation and anything else that you may want to know in advance about this partnership. The floor is now open for the Question & Answer session. If you have a question, kindly raise your hand so that the team can pass you the microphone. Please state your name, the name of your organisation, your question, and to whom the question is for. If media don’t know where to start or what to ask, MC can kick start the Q&A session with the questions below (in suggested order): Allow me to ask the first question… 1. Tell us more about the goals and objectives of the WIEF Roundtable. 2. Why was Dhaka chosen as the first Roundtable venue this year? 3. How did the WIEF Roundtable come about? What sorts of topics were tackled in past Roundtable? 4. Where were previous Roundtables held? 5. What is the role of the International Advisory Panel (IAP) in the Roundtable this year?
Before we end today’s Press Conference, may I invite our Honourable Guests to partake in a group photo? |
