JAKARTA, March 28 (Xinhua) — Indonesia will host an international art festival called “the 4th Marketplace of Creative Arts” in Bandung of West Java province on April 14-15, a official announced here Wednesday.
Tan Sri Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak, secretary general of the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) Foundation, told a press conference that they proudly announced that the WIEF Foundation will host the 4th Marketplace of Creative Arts in Indonesia.
The event is collaboration between the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) Foundation through its Young Leader Network (WYN) and Bandung Creative City Forum (BCCF), and supported by the Alumni of Visual Arts at the Bandung Technology Institute.
“The WIEF is well-known in providing opportunities in creating business, including in art industry,” Tan Sri Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak said at the press conference.
The event themed “the Design Nation: Carving Creative Spaces” is aimed to share knowledge and encourage entrepreneurship spirit of art practitioners in creating a strong art world and business opportunities.
Tanri Abeng, advisor of the 4th Marketplace of Creative Arts, said that the event is a home for various art works such as dance, music, comedy, film and other imaginative arts.
“This will allow young artists from around the world to show their capability, develop their cooperation network with other creative practitioners from other countries and to explore business opportunities in the art industry,” said Abeng.
Such events have been convened in Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Kazakhstan’s Astana, brought together art practitioners from 15 countries and attracted more than 2,200 participants from 67 countries.
