The 4th Marketplace of Creative Arts

World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) held 4th The Marketplace of Creative Arts, in Bandung, West Java. The festival will be a venue for young artists, from within and outside the country to gather show his skill in the arts.

“The Marketplace is an idea that addresses a future in which creative artists are supported, developed, and presented ideas. And given the opportunity to help them grow into an artist who can represent the state and budata their identity,” said Sandiaga Uno, chairman of the organizers of this event on Wednesday (29/3), in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the Executive Manager Fazil Irwan WIEF Som said, every artist who appeared on the show has the typical characteristics of the culture of each country. Artists who attend the festival were selected based on, age is still relatively young, and have a creative ability in art. In addition, there is also a recommendation of these artists are more senior.

Tanri Abeng, as this festival adviser, stated that this event could be a market for young artists to sell creations-creation. According to him, one thing that makes the growth of the art of being “stuck” is because they do not know what benefit they can get from art. “They have to be met by the market,” he said.

London was chosen by the organizers because the city is considered capable of carrying the name of Indonesia in the creative industries. Bandung is one of five creative cities in Asia, so it is called often called “Bandung Creative City”.

Festival events will be held on 14-15 April 2012, at Ciwalk, Bandung. Indonesia’s young artists who participated in the festival is Sarasvati, the breed, Leonardo, Arumba, Imelda Rosaline, Ammy Alternative String, and 4 pin.

The fourth Festival of The Marketplace is a collaboration WIEF Foundation, London Creative Forum, and the Fine Arts Alumni Bandung Institute of Technology. Previously, this festival ever held in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Astana. [WS]
