Visit Visa for Journalists will be issued to registered foreign journalists/reporters entering Indonesia for media coverage of the 12th WIEF. This visa can be obtained at the Indonesia Embassies or Consular Missions accredited in the journalist’s respective country or in the nearest country if no Indonesian representation exists in the journalist’s country.

 

COMPULSORY information to be submitted to WIEF upon registration:-

  1. Passport Copy
  2. Media ID
  3. ID Photo
  4. Flight Details (Arrivals & Departures)
  5. Contact Details

 

The Embassy or Consular Missions will give response of the application if an approval has been received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs anc the visa will be issued accordingly thereafter.

Please note that free visa facility (Presidential Regulation 21/2016) is not applied to journalists/media workers.

 

Visit Visa for Delegates will be issued to registered registered delegates entering Indonesia for participation at the 12th WIEF. This visa can be obtained at the Indonesia Embassies or Consular Missions accredited in the delegate’s respective country or in the nearest country if no Indonesian representation exists in the delegates’s country.

 

COMPULSORY information to be submitted to WIEF upon registration:-

  3. Flight Details (Arrivals & Departures)
  4. Contact Details

Upon request of the delegate, we will provide an invitation letters that is a required document for your visa application to those delegates who have registered. Please note that the names and addresses on all invitation must be the same names as provided at the online registration. In order to complete the invitation, please ensure you provide ALL the information listed as compulsory above.

The COMPULSORY information will be submitted to the Immigration Clearance House of Indonesia. The information will be required from those who are from visa-free countries as well to ensure that you will not encounter issues when entering the country to attend the Forum.

Visa Entry for citizen of some countries needs compulsory authorisation from the Directorate of Immigration in Jakarta. List of countries that requires calling visa are:-

Foreign Media Journalist Visit Procedures in Indonesia

A Journalist Visa is issued to foreign journalists/reporters who intend to enter Indonesia for media coverage and filming purposes. This visa could be obtained at the Indonesian Embassy or missions at the country where the applicant resides, or, at the nearest country if none. Procedures to obtain Journalist Visa are as follows:

  1. Journalists/foreign media should apply for journalist visa in Indonesian Mission.
  2. The applicant should fill the visa application form provided at the Embassy/representative office and submit:
    1. A sponsor letter from his/her News Agency/Editor stating the purpose of the journalistic visit toIndonesia, places to be visited/covered, and the date/schedule of coverage;
    2. The company profile, crew list and their position;
    3. A copy of the passport of every crew member (valid more than 6 months at time of the scheduledentry in Indonesia);
    4. A synopsis or background information of the story/documentation;
    5. A list of the equipment (if any) brought by the applicant to Indonesia;
    6. A list of informant(s) who will be the reference in film shooting;
    7. Signing a statement letter stating:
      1. That you agree and obey all the regulations in Indonesia, including District Regulation, especially the regulation in holy places and national parks;
      2. That you will give one copy of the film shooting result to the Directorate of Film, the Directorate General of Cultural Values, Art and Film, and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Indonesia, after finishing their tasks in Indonesia.
  3. Application(s) will be processed in an interdepartmental-meeting every Thursday in the Department of Foreign Affairs.
  4. Applicant(s) will be further informed by the Embassy/representative office regarding the date and time to collect his/her visa.
  5. Upon arrival in Jakarta, the journalist(s) is required to do the following:
    1. Collect their Temporary Press ID Card in the Directorate of Information and Media Services,Department of Foreign Affairs by submitting copy of:
      1. his/her passport and visa
      2. two coloured photographs (3×4 cm)
      3. and a Letter of Notification provided by the Indonesian Embassy/Representative officewhere his/her visa was issued.
    2. To complete the shooting permit, the applicant should also report to Department of Culture and Tourism c.q. Directorate of Filming (especially for film shooting), in the address: Jl. M.T. Haryono kav.47-48 Jakarta Selatan to collect his/her shooting permit;
    3. Filming in conservation areas are restricted; therefore the journalist(s)/foreign media need a Permit Letter to Enter Conservation Area from the Directorate General of Protection, Department of Forestry.
    4. To film under the sea, the journalist(s) must have permission from Marine Central Headquarters;
    5. To ensure the journalist/foreign media can carry out their duty properly in certain districts, the journalists(s)/foreign media must involve a Liaison Officer. (Ref. Minister for Culture and Tourism Decree, Number. KM.62/PW.204/MKP/2004 on October 19, 2004, Article 7).

Pre Registration Counters

  • Please be informed that the WIEF Registration Team will start issuing tags for registered delegates from 30th July 2016
  • The registration points can be seen here.
  • Kindly collect your tags early to avoid crowding and queuing on the event day.

Forum Documentation

  • The WIEF Secretariat will provide all necessary information related to the forum. In addition, they will be responsible for distribution of forum documents and speech transcripts.
  • Speakers are requested to send in any materials (i.e. power point slides etc.) to the Forum Secretariat with regards to your presentation/speech.

To support environmental protection efforts, WIEF will endeavor to reduce the production of documents. Only limited quantity of documents will be circulated at the conference venue and delegates can get access to all documents at forum Downloads section of the website.


Media Centre

  • Journalists can retreat to the Media Centre, where they will have access to all necessary facilities such as internet access, fax, printers and photo copiers at the Media Working Area as well as refreshments at the Refreshment Area.

Language & Simultaneous Interpretation System (SIS)

  • The official language of the Forum is English.
  • For the convenience of international participants, simultaneous interpretation services will be provided at each session in order for delegates to exchange their views and experiences without having to worry about loss of content or misrepresentation in translation.
  • Interpretation services will be provided for the following languages: Arabic, French and Russian.

Badge

  • For security reasons, only those delegates wearing a valid 12th WIEF badge will be allowed entry to the Forum sessions, exhibitions and social events. It is also required for meals and shuttle services.
  • Please make sure that your badge is visible to our security staff at all times. Our security staff has been instructed to question anybody without a valid badge. No access will be permitted to all forum venues without badge.
  • To enter the Forum venue you will pass through several security checkpoints and your belongings may be searched. Please avoid carrying any sharp objects such as pen knives, scissors, etc. as this may cause delay.
  • Information of lost and damage of badges must be immediately reported to the Forum Registration Counter.
  • Replacement badge fee is US$50.

DRESS CODE

Business attire is required during the Forum.
