WIEF Young Leaders Network is one of the key initiatives under WIEF Foundation, which organises the annual World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF)

Melaka, 5 May 2017 – YAB Datuk Seri Utama Ir. Hj. Idris Bin Hj. Haron attends the concluding event of WIEF Young Fellows Programme which is hosted by The Hon. Tun Musa Hitam, Chairman of WIEF Foundation at Hotel Puri Melaka.

As part of the week-long programme, YAB Datuk Seri Utama Ir. Hj. Idris Bin Hj. Haron has an engagement session with the participants on 2 May, 2017 to share the milestone and journey of the Melaka State Government in the conservation of Melaka heritage and culture, as well as listing of Melaka in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Cities.

Bringing young people from different parts of the world together, guiding them to learn about operating businesses through the culture and heritage aspect, this meets the primary objective of WIEF Foundation – Building Bridges Through Business”

Themed “Unlocking the Business of Heritage and Culture“, the leadership empowerment programme which runs from 30 April to 5 May is participated by 24 youths from 14 countries including Malaysia, Senegal, USA, Comoros, Australia, UK, Yemen, Indonesia, The Philippines, Kenya, Iraq, France etc. The participants of various ethnicity and occupational backgrounds are experiencing leadership and entrepreneurship skills with a holistic perspective covering finance, business management, social enterprise, sustainability, community living and philanthropy.

WIEF Young Fellows leadership programme was held in various cities around the world – Kuala Lumpur (2012) Durban (2013) Manila (2014) Cordoba (2015) and Singapore (2016) and bears the tagline of “ Learn. Earn. Empower. Return.”.
