Muslim and non Muslim luminaries to address Forum

Kuala Lumpur , 8 October 2009 – Word leaders and luminaries including Sir Martin Sorrel, CEO of WPP Advertising Group, a widely respected figure in the international advertising industry, will join 2, 000 delegates from all over the world at 6th World Islamic Economic Forum ( WIEF) to be held from 18-20 May 2010 in Kuala Lumpur.

Tan Sri Ahmad Fuzi, Secretary General of World Islamic Forum Foundation said, “Sir Martin Sorrell, Times Most Influential Figure, will share the platform with renowned speakers in WIEF signature session, The Global CEO Panel: Survival of the Fittest: The New Game Plan.”

He added,” We have invited key corporate figures from the Muslim and non Muslim world, to share their insights and expertise at the Forum. We also expect more confirmations from heads of governments and former leaders. “

During the two day Forum, the delegates will explore innovation in business, potentials of industries such as tourism, water management, Islamic Finance, Entrepreneurship, Technology in Education, Islamic Branding, Small Businesses and Logistics. Another signature session which is expected to generate investor interest is the Countries in Focus session, which will see Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Oman and Senegal, presenting on business, trade and investment opportunities.

The Prime Minister of Malaysia and the Patron of the WIEF Foundation, Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Abdul Razak, will be delivering the keynote address and moderate the special addresses by Heads of Governments.

The 5th World Islamic Economic Forum held in Jakarta in March 2009 attracted 1700 delegates and Memorandum of Agreements totaling USD 3.1 Billion was signed during the Forum.
