A delegation of industry experts, business leaders of financial, banking investment sectors, thought leaders and heads of OIC related organisations, led by Tun Musa Hitam, Chairman of World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) Foundation will head up to New Delhi, India, for the International Advisory Panel (IAP) Meeting that will take place on the 4th July 2012.

The WIEF International Advisory Panel (IAP) is the advisory body of the WIEF that provides strategic input and intellectual content for the annual global and regional WIEF as well as its related initiatives. In line with the theme for the 8th WIEF, “Changing Trends, New Opportunities” the meeting will discuss noteworthy topics related to the 8th Forum and matters pertaining to the global economic outlook.

Among the key focus areas of the WIEF IAP meeting will include the regional partnerships and cooperation among the countries which relate back to the WIEF Foundation ideals of “BUILDING BRIDGES THROUGH BUSINESS”, including the shifting of economic influence and how Asian powerhouses like India are a rising and influential force to work with.

“We are honoured and privileged to be meeting in New Delhi, India, with the presence of industry experts, financial, investment experts and top business movers and shakers from around the world.  We have chosen to converge in India, because today, India is among the most attractive destinations globally, for investments and business, and its FDIs had increased over the last few years. The Indian economy has continuously recorded high growth rates and become an attractive destination for investments. With the presence of some of India’s prominent personalities in the industry, we are looking forward to be able to discuss, to make inroads and address the some underlying socioeconomic issues, and ascertain sustainable ways to overcome these matters that hinder nations from developing and progressing,” said Tun.

The 8th World Islamic Economic Forum will be held from the 4th – 6th December 2012 at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre in Johor, Malaysia. The 8th Forum is a joint collaboration between the World Islamic Economic Forum Foundation and the State Government of Johor, with the strong support of the Government of Malaysia.

The World Islamic Economic Forum has introduced some innovative changes to cater to the growing needs of the business world, including incorporating the Young Leaders Forum and the Businesswomen Forum into the main Forum programme, special luncheon talks with global personalities, a new interactive dialogue session with an international personality, focused corporate networking breakfast sessions and customised business networking sessions which resonates with WIEF’s ideology through “BUILDING BRIDGES THROUGH BUSINESS”.
